Role Summary
The Research Assistant is responsible for supporting all research activity conducted by the Principal Investigators (PI), Co-investigators and Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC’s) and Investigators. The role will focus on a broad range of research activities from study start up through to study close out and general administration duties.
You will ensure that all research is conducted in accordance with GenesisCare SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines and all applicable national and international laws and regulations.
Reporting lines:

  • Research Assistants will report directly to the Team Lead or Clinical Team Manager.
  • The position will have no reports.

Your key responsibilities:

  • General Administration Activities: Undertake general administrative duties including booking and confirming participant appointments, contacting referrers, accessing hospital medical records, letters, scanning and document filing
  • Organise and schedule appointments/meetings, internally and externally, as necessary
  • Assist participants with organising travel arrangements to attend study visits
  • Responsible for coordinating participant reimbursements and updating required trackers
  • Managing laboratory equipment records including but not limited to fridge and freezer temperature logs
  • Maintain study trackers as required
  • Assist the Research Business Operations team with maintaining staff details, CV’s, training and registration documentation including GCP, medical registration and medical insurance details
  • Support tracking and reporting activities.

Research Activities:

  • Allocate and arrange storage for study folders, study specific equipment, investigational product, participant materials and pathology supplies throughout the life cycle of the study
  • Support in the collection, preparation and shipment of samples, including pathology samples, bloods and imaging discs, as required.
  • Support in the preparation and maintenance of required study files (paper and electronic), including but not limited to, regulatory binders, study specific source documentation, and other materials throughout the lifecycle of the study
  • Assist CRCs with data capture and entry for research projects as requested
  • Assist with preparing for site monitoring and close-out visits
  • Arrange archiving of completed research projects and update associated trackers
  • Liaise with external research organisations and other health providers to provide or obtain clinical trial related information and data
  • Ensure all research is conducted in accordance with GenesisCare SOPs, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines, study specific protocols and all applicable national and international laws and regulations
  • Complete all mandatory and trial specific training as required.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in a health/science related field
  • Experience in patient coordination/scheduling
  • Proven experience to work both independently and as part of a team in an effective, proactive and co-operative manner
  • High level of initiative and flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities
  • Strong computer literacy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
