JOB SUMMARY

The position is responsible for supporting the accurate preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, the Systems cost accounting system, accounting associated with System joint ventures and other analysis and reporting needs throughout the System. The position will be part of the team that assists managers with the development of the System’s annual budget as well as the calculation of third party receivable and settlements with payors. This position has exposure to many aspects of Covenant’s financial and accounting operations with learning and growth opportunities.

This position can be fulfilled with a remote work arrangement (or remote/hybrid if located in or near Nashua, NH).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and report financial records for assigned companies under St. Joseph Hospital
  • Maintain an accurate record of all fixed assets and depreciation for assigned companies.
  • Prepare audit schedules for assigned companies
  • Assist operational Directors of assigned companies with annual budget preparations.
  • Preparation and production of multiple monthly and annual reports, including the cost report
  • Variance analysis, as well as various ad-hoc reports as needed, including ProForma’s
  • Month-end reporting and analysis of Contractual Allowance, Bad Debt, and Community Benefits as well as various other monthly reports

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in the healthcare field
  • Extensive experience with spreadsheets, flexibility to understand diverse integrated systems
  • Familiarity with cost accounting/budgeting software and ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to communicate accounting matters in an effective and concise manner to all levels of staff
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality within all functions of the department
