When the hospital is completed this coming fall, NPVMC will provide the most up to date medical campus in Southeastern Wyoming. In addition to a 24-hour emergency room, NPVMC will offer advanced imaging including ultrasound, X-Ray, digital mammography, CT, Dexa Scan, and mobile MRI capabilities. The CAH features an inpatient pharmacy, laboratory services, and physical/occupational therapy. Staffed with both full time physician and mid-level providers, the hospital will provide a healthcare solution that services the community and offers convenience to medical services.

We're looking for an energetic, enthusiastic individual to assist in the daily operations of our facility. Rehab aides assist members of the rehabilitation team with therapeutic treatments to restore patient’s function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities to increase patients’ quality of life and independence in daily activities.

If hired as a rehabilitation aid we will expect professional appearance and manner, well developed interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of office equipment including computers and software are a plus. On the job training will be provided as needed.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to push residents in wheelchairs up to 50+ pounds
  • Stooping/Bending: 200+ times a day for brief periods
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate well with residents and coworkers

Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to assist residents on outings and outdoor activities.

Skills:

  • Bedside manner- Rehab aides work closely with patients and patient families; a compassionate and empathetic bedside manner is essential.
  • Physical fitness- Rehab aides assist patients with transport and treatment, physical ability to lift and support patients and carry equipment.
  • Communication skills- Rehab aides receive instruction from therapists and assist patients with their treatment, which requires excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Computer Skills/Data entry- Rehab aides use data entry skills to enter information into digital systems such as adding patient notes and coordinating schedules. Department will provide training for specific software programs used.

Job duties and responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Prepare patients for treatment, transport and prepare patients for therapeutic treatment sessions. Prepare supplies and equipment for treatment, including setting up treatment rooms.
  • Clean equipment and treatment rooms before and after sessions and deep clean equipment as per policy and procedures. Follow universal precautions when applicable.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, work related pressures, and sudden changes.
  • Manage and maintain inventory supplies including office supplies and therapy supplies. Keeping stock areas clean and organized, and ordering new supplies as needed.
  • Maintain patient’s confidence and keep information confidential as required by HIPPA.
  • Greet patients and visitors while managing the reception area. Tasks to include but not limited to making patient appointments, answering/returning calls as needed and sending out surveys to discharged patients.
  • Contribute to team effort and atmosphere
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Maintain department records (ie. Cleaning logs, etc.)

Education:

  • High School Diploma.
  • CNA certification

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
