Job Summary:
Job Summary:
Responsible for providing clinical assistance to the physician within the office setting as needed, as well as providing infusion therapy for patients.
- Able to successfully perform venipunctures on patients in infusion suite.
- Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedure/infusion according to standards of care and physicians preference.
- Inspect equipment for proper working condition
- Follow principles of aseptic technique
- Maintain availability of needed medications and supplies to avoid delays in treatment
- Report observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policy
- Knowledgeable about side effects and or potential adverse reactions of medications being administered.
- Correctly use, care for, clean, and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed by the manufacturers IFU.
- Assist in storing and stocking supplies as directed
- Respond in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician
- Accurately documents patient-care in the appropriate platform and completes other forms according to facility policies and procedures
- Keeps all team members responsible for care of the patient informed about patient’s status
- Provides for comfort and reassurance to the patient and their family.
- Maintains patients’ privacy and dignity.
- Accurately comprehends and carries out verbal orders/directions from the providers.
- Provides patient education related to medications administered or procedure performed.
- Facilitates appropriate authorization of scheduled procedure/infusion
- Refill medication prescriptions that have been authorized by the Physician
- Coordinate surgeries with surgical reps/vendors
- Perform post-operative patient assessments
- Room patients and collect histories
- Maintain office OSHA compliance
Qualifications:
Required
- Active Ohio Registered Nurses License
- Current AHA BLS certification
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
- Computer literacy
- Previous Infusion nurse experience
