This position is located at the Bartow County Health Department in Cartersville, Georgia.

Job Responsibilities

Under supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.


Works to ensure that quality assurance objectives and standards of care are met by adhering to protocols, policies and procedures.

Understands funding source(s) and adheres to programmatic budget considerations. Consistently delivers quality patient care in the clinical setting by assessing, treating and documenting appropriately.

Participates In community outreach opportunities to promote health and disease prevention activities.

Coordinates and/or function in assigned programs(s) and assures adherence to program specific requirements. Programs may Include but are not limited to Immunizations, Child Health & Children with Special Needs, Women's Health, Tuberculosis, Sexually Transmitted Disease etc.

Completes all initial and annual training as required.
Participates in emergency planning and response activities.

Minimum Qualifications

PH Registered Nurse 2:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification. Valid driver's license is required.

CBH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. CBH may contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.

The District Human Resource Department must receive an official transcript and/or proof of licenses, certifications prior to employment.
