Recruiting a Registered Nurse ( RN ) to work in the Health and Wellness Clinic at Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, Havelock, North Carolina. providing medical care for Active Duty military heroes, their family members, and retirees. The Registered Nurse position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 8.5 hr shifts between 7:00AM and 9:00PM. Occasionally, Saturday services may be required between 7:00AM and 9:00PM.normally between the hours of 7:30AM - 4:00PM, with full benefits and including 17 days of paid vacation & sick leave, plus paid 10 federal holidays.

DUTIES OF THE REGISTERED NURSE ( RN ) - HEALTH PROMOTION:

• Perform a full range of RN duties in accordance with assignment, including: triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment; appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians’ orders within the guidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; and patient education and emotional support.
• Perform health wellness and promotion activities, including classes, marketing, health displays promoting heathy lifestyles
• Assess each patient and perform triage duties as assigned.
• Formulate and carry out a goal directed plan of care which based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes and which is prioritized according to patient needs and available resources including time, personnel, equipment, and supplies.
• Evaluate effectiveness of self-care given by all health team members, and contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patient toward outcomes.
• Provide treatment and discharge instructions upon patient release.
• Perform assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Assist in planning, provide clinical direction and provide instruction to LPNs/LVNs, nursing assistants and ancillary personnel.Counsel and educate individuals and families about health promotions and wellness issues, smoking cessation issues, nutrition issues, weight issues and general health issues.
• Assist in data collection process, initiate health reports and interpret medical literature.

• Possess a minimum of 6 months of full-time experience within the past 2 years as a RN in health promotion/wellness activities. This experience includes nursing concepts, theories, principles, protocols, and wellness programs as well as health behavior and adult education.
• Associates Degree of Nursing or higher
• Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license (any state or U.S. Territory) to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• U.S. Citizen (for access to Government computer systems)
