Registered Nurse- Breast Program Navigator
The breast navigator’s primary function is guiding breast cancer patients through the health care system by assisting with access issues, developing relationship with physicians and other service providers, and tracking interventions and outcomes, along with patient and caregiver education.
- The ideal candidate should be a registered nurse with 3 or more years of experience in medical surgical nursing and oncology.
- BSN and OCN certified.
- The Breast cancer navigator must have outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills. The individual must poses knowledge of breast cancer, breast cancer treatment modalities, community resources and healthcare structure and function.
- Understanding of breast cancer risk factors and genetic mutations.
