HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill positions as direct care Registered Nurse for the VADOC Baskerville Correctional Center in Baskerville, VA. Correctional work experience is a PLUS. The IDEAL CANDIDATE will have at least one year Nursing experience, a complete resume, and Nursing license in good standing with the state of Virginia. Nigh shift, 6p - 630a, 12-hr shifts working every other weekend and every other holiday.
ALL RN CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:
- NEGATIVE TB Test WITHIN THE LAST YEAR
- CURRENT BLS/CPR CERTIFICATION
- VA NURSING LICENSE
- STATE/ FBI BACKGROUND CHECK
- Current proof of Covid Vaccination
Responsibilities and Duties of RNs:
- Work under an assigned manager, who will be available for consultation during regular business hours. Assist the physician with examination and treatment of patients.
- Obtain and record vital signs of patient throughout interactions.
- Help with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures.
- Keep comprehensive medical records of all patient interactions.
- Make sure all equipment is sterilized and maintain clean working environment.
- Educate participants about health management concepts using evidence-based guidelines.
- Comply with all state requirements and facility policies and procedures.
- Perform all other nursing duties as needed.
- Current, unencumbered state RN license
- Current CPR certification
- Current PPD (Tuberculosis Skin Test), within past year
- Current Covid Vaccination, if available
- Minimum of one year of experience
- Prefer experience working in a Corrections or Law enforcement environment.
- Prefer previous experience working with mental health patients.
- Prefer experience in acute care and/or community health settings (at least one year).
