Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MS&T) is the global Process & Technical capability within Global Consumer Health, providing integrated technical leadership for the Base Business Operations, Global Product & Technology Strategies and Product Life Cycle Initiatives. MS&T drives Customer Value through end-to-end Technical Ownership of Product, Process and Equipment and Executional Excellence. As the technical backbone of the Consumer Health Organization, MS&T is organized with Centre led Global CoEs and Regional Execution teams. Global CoE SMEs are responsible for building capabilities, innovation, standardization & simplification, while Regional MS&T Teams are organized as Franchise Cluster Teams, responsible for excellent execution.


The Regional Reliability leader reports into the Regional NA CH MS&T Leader and provides strategic and technical leadership to deploy a fit-for-purpose Reliability Centered Maintenance strategy to achieve world-class asset reliability and performance at affordable cost. He/she ensures a high standard of maintenance excellence is maintained across the network and reliability optimization plans are deployed and adapted to the business needs of Consumer Health in terms of agility, cycle time and speed to market.


He/She leads, directs, and coordinates at the regional level the Smart Asset Optimization program for Consumer Health and is responsible for establishing and deploying the next level of Maintenance transformation aligned to the SMART Factory & Operations strategy, applying sensor-data & diagnostics for condition-based and predictive maintenance practices. The role of the Regional Reliability leader is to deploy Maintenance Platform leader is to benchmark, test and validate state-of-the-art solutions, standardize, and monitor deployment, and assess capability building needs across the network.


The Regional Reliability leader ensures the consistency in deployment through strong collaboration and dissemination of knowledge across the Make Asset Management (MAM) Function across the region, promoting and empowering strategic direction and support across all internal & external manufacturing sites.


The Regional Reliability leader provides (direct) leadership to a small team of regional SMEs, builds the capability with the entire MS&T MAM Function.

The Regional Reliability leader works closely with various internal and external stakeholders. He/She is strongly networked with the Asset Management leaders in the other J&J segments and is part of the Global MAM Leadership Team.

Internal: other Technology Platforms (Liquids, Engineered Products, Solids, Packaging Engineering, Automation & Digital) and CoEs (Product Strategy & Advanced Process Controls, Global Validation), Plant MS&T/MAM

External: Regional Supply Chain, Regional MAKE, Enterprise Innovation & Deployment, EHS&S, E&PS, QA, JJT


The incumbent requires a wide variety of technical skills. He/She must have a strong Asset Management / Maintenance background, digital acumen, proven track record and an ability to create strong relationships with diverse functions. Must possess ability to build consensus and impact outcomes without line authority and is able to negotiate decisions across multiple organizations. Bifocal approach - ability to zoom-in/zoom-out for strategic and tactical, high-level and detailed is required. Must have good communication skills, proven leadership experience and be able to inspire trust and quickly build credibility with executive management. The ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and influence decision making across a matrix organization is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that a Reliability roadmap is created for the Platform.
  • Leads the Regional Maintenance Governance for NA Consumer Health.
  • Works with MS&T and Make Leaders to develop long range improvement and financial plans.
  • Ensures the site supporting team is properly resourced and has robust deployment/training plans.
  • Key contributor to the global Maintenance programs, specifically:
  • Spare parts management,
  • e-CMMS, Analytics,
  • Digital Asset Management and Smart Asset Optimization program
  • Continuous improvement of our Maintenance organization model,
  • Is involved in JJPS/JJOS Diagnostics, defines and supports improvement plans.
  • Is involved in JJPS tactical implementation support through the regional governance leads
  • Creates an environment that fosters innovative thinking and transformational approach
  • Drives through deployment of innovations in Maintenance strategy, technology and sustainability in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Creates and supports execution of a portfolio of strategic Maintenance projects, including SAO, Reliability increase, CIP, Quality and Compliance
  • Identifies talent, provides coaching and plans for talent Development and leverage across TS&I and MS&T.
  • Contributes to the succession planning of the Maintenance teams, and the Regional Maintenance Governance leads succession planning.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience

  • Excellent knowledge of GMP’s, SOP’s, latest regulatory trends, and global regulations as appropriate is required
