Missouri Girls Town Foundation, Inc. in Kingdom City, MO is looking for one recreation coordinator to join our 54 person strong team. We are located on 8548 Jade Road. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.

Job Title: Recreation Coordinator

Summary

The Recreation Coordinator functions in a professional manner with clients, co-workers and the community. Recreation is an integral part of the approach to socialization and clinical treatment of clients. Interventions should take into account the problems and deal with the deficiencies of particular individuals or subgroups. Recreation has the potential of being a multi-dimensional approach that that the Recreation Department applies to individuals and groups.

The Recreation Coordinator provides leadership and guidance to develop fundamental skills to promote an active, therapeutic and enjoyable program. The position emphasizes and teaches core values to young women in order to encourage good citizenship that will contribute to Missouri Girls Town as well as society.

The Recreation Coordinator reports directly to the Program Director.

Responsibilities

1. Schedules licensing requirements for recreation including at minimum 2 active and 1 passive session per week.

2. Annual revision and implementation of the Recreation Plan.

3. Plans events on McClain campus, including but not limited to McClain Day, Open House, Ms. MGT Pageant and Prom.

4. Completes and files all required paperwork including but not limited to weekly activity logs, recreation assessments and PQI tracking.

5. Coordinate and attend all volunteer Recreational events and activities.

6. Creation and oversight of the recreation annual budget.

7. Creation, oversight and implementation of McClain campus summer schedule when clients are out of school.

8. Supervises Assistant Director of Recreation and clients participating in campus employment.

9. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Qualifications

1. Minimum age of 21 years

2. Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human service field

3. No criminal record of history of abuse

4. Ability to lift ten pounds

5. Ability to demonstrate caring, tolerance, and patience when dealing with troubled youth

6. Ability to demonstrate understanding of philosophy, policies and procedures, strategies and programs of Missouri Girls Town.

7. Ability to work and communicate with both staff and clients

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality

9. Ability to be on time and dependable

10. Ability to work independent with little supervision

Environmental/Working Conditions

Ability to work with the clients both inside and out at all times of the year. Hours outside normal business hours are required. This is an exempt position according to the FLSA. Salary is based on working a regular 12 month schedule.
