Supervised By: Direct Supervision by BARN Executive Director

Hours: 40 Hours per week

Basic Purpose: To oversee, recruit, train, and coordinate recovery coaches through the Bangor Area Recovery Network; To work closely with community partners and recovery coaches to facilitate recovery coaching within the community

Qualifications:

· All qualifications being equal, preference is given to persons in long-term recovery.

· A valid driver’s license and access to transportation.

· Valid CCAR Recovery Coach certificate.

· Valid CCAR Ethical Considerations certificate.

· Valid CCAR Trainer certificate or willingness to obtain same.

· Personal characteristics of maturity and professionalism with a sincere desire to work with recovering individuals and the recovery community.

· An appreciation and affinity for those persons in addiction recovery as well as an understanding of the recovery community.

· Possess and exercise good public relation skills.

· Adapts to changing conditions efficiently and effectively.

· Demonstrates ability to write clear and concise notes, organize and prioritize time, effectively communicates, and works as a team member.

· Participates in process improvement.

· Demonstrates interactive communication skills that afford group facilitation and relationship development.

· Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards along with federal, state, and local codes pertinent to role based on job title

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, e-mail, and internet use.

Key Result Areas:

· Maintain the infrastructure for BARN’s Recovery Coach Program, with specific elements related to volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and retention.

· Develop and coordinate BARNs Telephone Recovery Support Program.

· Maintain a cadre of up to 15 volunteer coaches to serve BARN in a variety of areas.

· Continue to recruit and train an additional 5-10 volunteer coaches annually.

· Ensure that all volunteer coaches are adequately trained and supervised

Primary Responsibilities:

· Develop and oversee recovery coach compliance

· Matches incoming requests for coaching with recovery coach

· Collaborate with community partners and internal programs in a timely and effective manner

· Establish and implement programs and activities consistent with current and future grant agreements

· Document activities and outcomes consistent with grant agreements

· Recruit, orient, train, mentor and supervise recovery coaches

· Establish and maintain relationships with community partners and internal partners

· Serve as a referral source for recovery coaches

· Maintain knowledge of community resources

· Provide ongoing education and training of BARN recovery coaches

· Coordinate required trainings and education for recovery coaches

· Conduct requested outreach services within the community

· Provides leadership and works within committees and/or on special projects

· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
