The R&D Technician role is responsible for driving cutting edge innovation to enable the next-generation technologies in the microelectronics industry. This position is part of Pall Microelectronics team and will be located in Cortland, NY.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Chemical Operations: Sets up, operates and maintains lab based chemical process equipment and analytical instrumentation requiring the safe use of potentially hazardous chemicals according to established operating procedures and company regulations.
Testing: Performs standard and specialized testing in support of Prototype, R&D and production, including basic calculations.
Equipment Operation: Establishes, manages and preserves prototype equipment (corrugators, cappers, side-sealers, wrappers, lathes, saws, grinders, etc.) used to develop, fabricate or test filter products or components.
Calibration: Calibrates Prototype instrumentation or equipment to traceable standards in accordance with specified procedures.
Record Keeping: maintains records of Prototype builds, data and calculations pertaining to fabrication, testing and calibration. Permanent records must conform to Pall standards.
Communication: releases relevant information in written and verbal form. Generates concise reports, job folders, data, memos, SLOPs, purchase orders, MWOs, etc. in a timely manner.
Coordinate lab safety and regulatory compliance
Coordinate removal of hazardous waste by external vendors
Sample preparation and execution of experimental designs
Manage day-to-day lab operations

The essential requirements of the job include:
Associates degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Physics (or equivalent) with 0-2 years of industrial work experience
A very sound proficiency in working with mechanical equipment and tools
Experience and knowledge about handling aggressive chemicals is desirable
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience building devices, for example filter assembly, for testing
Experience managing equipment for fabrication a testing
Knowledge and experience dealing with aggressive chemicals
