Dana in DRY RIDGE, KY is currently hiring Quality Technicians. Rate of pay starts at $18.50/hour.


1st shift: 6am - 2pm 2nd shift: 2pm - 10pm 3rd shift: 10pm - 6am

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Techs will be responsible for a variety of functions maintaining a high level of Customer Satisfaction and addressing quality issues while developing appropropriate reports to assist in managemet of the department.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Tear down and axle analysis
  • CMM Axle layout inspection (shared with QET)
  • Perform customer Advocate functions as related to NVH which includes but not limited to:
  • Perform dock audits on final assemblies as required. (Containment / Early Containment)
  • Train manufacturing personnel as needed to perform routine inspections, audits, etc.
  • Support manufacturing through the use of problem solving techniques
  • Receiving Inspection of supplier product, communication of discrepant material to management and supply base
  • Maintain Quality System procedures relating to assigned areas of responsibilities
  • Floor Inspection and/or capability studies as required.
  • Set the standard for the highest level of housekeeping in the Quality Lab and rework Areas
  • Provide guidance to the manufacturing personnel as needed with regard to the following areas: Receiving Inspection, Floor Inspection/Audit Techniques
  • Must have problem solving skills for immediate action and resolution to customer concerns
  • Monthly Process Capability studies and as requested
  • Monthly Torque wrench Audits (shared duties with QET)
  • Monthly Poke-Yoke Audits (shared duties with QET)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and foster continuous improvement in all aspects
  • Involvement in the resolution of Customer Concerns through the use of problem resolution tools such as 7D, 8D, Five Phase, etc. problem solving processes
  • Prepare periodic reports and other data for presentations to managers and/or plant personnel


Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or Equivalent Preferred
  • Manufacturing experience preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team skills
  • Available to work any of the available shifts outlined above
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
