Quality Control Inspector Job at Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing Llc
- Appropriate usage of all required PPE
- Checks the quality of all frames by conducting 100% visual inspection of welds, measuring all components and verifying they are in tolerance of engineering drawings.
- Collaborates with the plant manufacturing team and operations staff to deliver the highest quality product possible.
- Utilize tools such as iAuditor, Engineering Drawings, Lean Daily Management boards, Inspection Sheets, and marker ribbons.
- Update Lean Daily Management boards on a cell level, including occurrences and pareto charts.
- Upon verification of product quality, record and attach work order/tickets to finished frames.
- Perform final inspection of frames previously inspected by other Quality Control Inspectors.
- Attach green ribbons to frames that have passed initial inspection.
- Attach red ribbons and red tags to frames that fail initial inspection.
- Record all red tags on Red Tag Log sheet.
- Attach Blue ribbons to frames that have passed final inspection
- Record all non-conforming occurrences on QC visual inspection sheet
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing engineer & quality supervisor regarding any non-conformity issue
- Perform first pass yield on 1st trailer of the day, 1st trailer after lunch, and any change over. Signoff that the unit meets engineering standards.
- Perform any other duties/tasks as assigned
- Ability to demonstrate organizational skills and play close attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull and maneuver up to 40+ pounds.
- Frequently exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
- Continuously exposed to a manufacturing/industrial environment.
