Quality Assurance Engineer Job at Gelest, Inc.
Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for the adherence of processes and procedures to the Gelest Quality System by auditing and issuing non-conformances as needed. In addition, the Quality Engineer will work closely with other groups within Gelest to aid in continuous improvement projects.
Summary of Essential Tasks:
- Host customer audits and prepare corrective actions to findings and observations.
- Conduct internal audits of the Gelest Quality System.
- Manage the non-conformance/corrective action system.
- Attend meetings of the Quality Systems Steering Team (QSST) and fulfill responsibilities.
- Review/sign new batch records.
- Daily retrieve and log refrigerator/freezer temperatures.
- Aid in the development of continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure customer requests related to quality are sent to the appropriate parties and follow up to ensure completion.
- Manage records and archive files.
- Maintain ISO 9001 compliance for certification.
- Assist in the development and execution of six sigma and lean manufacturing projects.
- Perform statistical and mathematical data analysis related to continuous improvement projects
Job Qualifications:
- Training in Quality Management or equivalent experience.
- Technical writing skills.
- Training as an internal or lead auditor. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering preferred.
- Degree/Certification in six sigma and lean manufacturing or equivalent experience preferred.
