Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
- Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures
- and participate in in-service training to staff members.
- Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
- Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
- Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
- Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.
- Collaborate with other health care professionals in meeting individual and family health care needs.
- Coordinate services required to meet individual and family needs for health care.
- Perform within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the medical treatment facility (MTF). Workload includes either schedules or emergency requirements for care.
- Perform specific functions as listed in DA Form 5440-17R, “Delineation of Privileges for OB/GYN, Adult and Family NP’s.” The list of duties is not intended to establish either a maximum or minimum acceptable level of effort, not to be all-inclusive listing of anticipated duties. Actual clinical activity will be a function of the MTF Commander Officer’s credentials review and privileging process and the overall demand of medical services. Productivity of the HCW is expected to be comparable to that of other providers assigned to the same MTF who are authorized the same scope of practice.
- Responsible for all labs and radiographs ordered under their name. The review new result function on CHCS will be reviewed at least once during each shift worked.
- Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers in accordance with policies and regulations of the MTF.
- Perform a complete physical examination on adults, children and pregnant women.
- Prepares all records and reports as may be required in support of services rendered as required by the MTF Standard Operating Procedures and Federal Law.
- Record all pertinent data about the client including history and physical examination, problems identified, interventions provided, results of care and plans of follow up or
- referral.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
- Graduate from an American Psychology Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
- Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
- As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-Specific credentialing instructions. The contractor will have a minimum of four years of clinical experience in psychology primarily dealing with an adult population.
- Must possess Basic Cardiac Life Support provided by the American Red Cross that shall be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services under this contract. Any fees associated with the renewal or maintaining BCLS certification shall be the contractor’s responsibility. The contractor shall provide appropriate documentation relative to certification/recertification to the COR.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.
- Must be a US Citizen.
