Job Summary:
Lend strength to Bethel Church of Redding to see the expansion of God’s
kingdom by ensuring the completion of projects that will enhance the
experience of staff and visitors, demonstrating God’s love, excellence and
beauty.

Responsible for matching, and applying paint to various surfaces,
completing touch-ups, and coordinating large painting projects.

Top Responsibilities:

• Use of painting equipment and painting practices currently in use in the profession.
• Interact with clients to discuss color and finish options and coordinate work times in various spaces.
• Perform routine inspections of properties for general upkeep.
• Maintain painting logs.
• Accurately estimate time and material costs.
• Select and purchase paint and supplies from vendors.
• Prep painting project sites by moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project.
• Prep the surface to be painted. (Scrape, sand, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.)
• Protect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures, and landscaping
• Observe and apply painting trade safety standards and procedures
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Apply proper paint to surfaces including walls, floors, doors, metal, concrete, and cabinets.
• Proper methods of cleaning and storing equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and proper working condition.
• Erect and work from scaffolding, riggings, and ladders at varying heights to gain access to difficult areas.
• Practice self-supervision to ensure each project is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Requirements
Required

• Believes and adheres to the beliefs and vision of Bethel Church
• Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the painting trade.
• Two years experience in the painting field
• Recognition of proper color matches to existing paint
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently

Recommended

• Ability to use a computerized maintenance management system for work order processing
• Awareness of commercial safety standards
