We are looking for a Project Planner / Project Controls Analyst with 5+ years of project controls and planning experience within the Industrial Engineering / EP/EPC contractor plant contracting, such as power plant construction, oil & gas / petrochemical industry, or industrial process plants. This is a full time position based out of our Houston office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Will be responsible supporting Project Managers plus the Engineering and Procurement departments in planning and tracking project activities;

· Provide periodic information on deliverables progress, highlighting areas of concern and proposing appropriate workarounds to Project Managers and functional leads;

· Generate periodic schedule look-ahead to support Project Managers and functional leads in aligning workload and priorities;

· Support schedule preparation in order to assure alignment with execution sequencing and preparation of deliverables as defined in the project Master Document List (MDL);

· Track progress of deliverables against baseline and proactively propose actions to improve efficiency and recover delays;

· Expedite the status of deliverables, accruing the appropriate progress and updating completion dates;

· Might be assigned to work on one or multiple projects at a given time, depending on project size and complexity;

· Develop strong partnership with project team (PMs, Discipline Leads, Procurement Leads, Construction Leads, etc.) to understand planning requirements and deviations and support implementation of recovery and mitigation actions;

· Perform staff density checks and provide leveling to support durations required for project execution;

· Support Project Managers and functional leads in the preparation of manpower forecasts;

· Work closely with cost personnel to assure proper impacts and updates in the project are continuously reflected in the forecast;

· Participate as needed in project reviews and interactive planning meetings, leading the actions required from the planning standpoint and supporting Project Managers in implementing appropriate mitigation actions;

· Track and report the performance of the critical path, raising potential concerns before they materialize;

· Interacts positively with the Client, official contacts, project teams, equipment suppliers, contractors and office staff;

· Consistently demonstrates initiative and decisiveness, and effectively influences others;

· Effectively works within diverse, multi-national, and multi-cultural project teams;

Job Requirements:

· 5+ years’ experience in Project Controls supporting Front End Loading, Design, and Procurement phases of projects, with strong preference for experience at petrochemical, chemical or refining industries;

· Basic experience with Primavera P6, to allow extracting information and working with existing schedules;

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite;

· Ability to work with minimum oversight;

· As needed, ability to conduct field walk downs and interact with multiple disciplines to validate planning and progress;

· Ability to remotely collaborate is essential due to the international coordination required for this work;

· Work is performed in an office environment where a computer and other office equipment are used as needed to perform duties. Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another, with constant and repeated use of keyboard/mouse;

· Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.

Additional Qualifications:

· Possess superior oral and written communication skills;

· PMP, CAPM, or other similar certification is desired;

· SAP experience is desired;

· Ability to work effectively from home, the assigned office, or a hybrid arrangement.

Additional Information:

· Position is based out of our Houston office, located in the Energy Corridor. Physical presence in the office during working hours is required.

· Possible travel (< 10%) to visit clients, tk Uhde subsidiaries, vendor/supplier facilities, detailer’s shops or project sites;

Pay: $55,697.28 - $125,242.51 per year
