Project Manager-Metal Building Construction Job at Steel & Metal Systems, Inc.
Steel & Metal Systems Inc. (SAMS) designs, sells, manufactures and constructs metal buildings for the self-storage industry. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing construction projects through completion, which includes but is not limited to managing installation labor for materials provided by SAMS, managing material delivery to job sites, managing and controlling costs of materials & labor provided by SAMS, keeping the jobs on schedule and within budget, handling issues, and properly communicating with all parties involved. This job is mainly performed from the Blackshear GA office for construction jobs in multiple states and requires occasional travel to job sites (less than 2 times average per month).
This position requires basic construction knowledge and the ability to read and understand blueprints. Math and computer skills are very important, as well as a strong problem-solving ability and a keen attention to detail. Performing construction "take-offs" or cut lists from blueprints is a plus. This person must possess strong project management skills, the ability to aggressively follow-up with all aspects of the job, and the ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills

- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- General knowledge of the construction industry
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs
- Organizational, planning and time management skills are a must
- Travel to job sites required several times per month
- Metal building experience is a Plus
