JOB SUMMARY

Give strategic guidance to teams and project managers with the goal of providing the most efficient and reliable equipment, standards, and processes available to meet the companies goals of continually improving products and services, providing value to the customers, ensuring integrity in the relationships with employees, vendors, and the community, and be committed to continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements

2. Understand and comply with all ISO/ TS and environmental requirements.

3. Health & Safety of self and collogues including outside contractors or support personnel.

4. Provide an atmosphere that challenges the teams to continually develop and refine the equipment, standards, and processes that provide value.

5. Oversee all aspects of an ongoing program including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activity.

6. Ensure that the product meets or exceeds company’s Quality standard and is delivered at the correct time

7. Addresses programs roadblocks through appropriate functional managers

8. Provides leadership for improvement processes

9. Evaluate and help the launch leader develop their knowledge and skills to become more valuable assets

10. Ensure that the production line is ready to align with customer launch milestones

11. Assist the leadership team with decisions concerning capacity, equipment, and process planning.

12. Be current in latest technology and trends concerning hot and cold metal stamping and assembly.

13. Implement best practices.

14. Adhere to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Policies.

15. Understand and follow all required GPS standards.

16. Support the Program Management group in evaluation of new work and tooling.

17. Support team functions by:

a. Kaizen submittal and implementation

b. Cross-training with others

c. Problem solving

d. Supports operational metrics and meets operational needs

18. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

2. 5 years automotive manufacturing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong people skills with a willingness to empower the team
  • Effectively able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Clear understanding of Lean Principals & Tools
  • Personal computer skills with familiarity with word processing, spread sheets, and Gantt charts.
  • Knowledge of project management principles
  • Working knowledge of MS Office

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear

2. Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds

3. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

4. The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

5. The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand

6. The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted

7. This job requires travel that, on rare occasions, can be for extended periods

8. May be required to work extended hours on occasion

9. Handle the stress of a fast-paced environment

10. Complex problem solving
