Meyer Utility Structures is searching for a Project Engineer to work as a part of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Technology (AMET) Group. The Project Engineer will find and implement innovative ways to advance the manufacturing, engineering and technology for Meyer Utility Structures.


Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.


What you'll do:

  • Focus on innovation – discover innovative technologies, gain approval by developing a solid business case, and drive ideas to full implementation
  • Performance will be evaluated on success of implementing new technologies that have direct bottom-line benefits
  • Drive projects from concept to completion
  • Apply systematic and analytic methods of problem solving to make evidence based technical decisions that are safe, functional, cost effective and validated
  • Manage major capital projects selected by the AMET group
  • Facilitate the training of personnel on process requirements and technical documentation
  • Participate in Op/Ex and Kaizen events
  • Assist in creating or editing machine programs, coding
  • Special projects as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 - 4 years of project engineering experience
  • Knowledge and experience of robotics and coding is a plus
  • Excellent ability to communicate and interface with all levels of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles
  • Good knowledge of project management tools
  • Understanding of business accounting
  • Prepare business case for projects (SOW)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of machine design
  • Understanding of material flow in a manufacturing plant
  • Understanding/Knowledge of ERP, CAD & PLM
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor or similar 3D CAD experience preferred
  • CNC code development experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience and proficiency with Excel
  • Experience in a LEAN manufacturing organization preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds which operate 3 shifts and frequent weekend shifts
  • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
