The Program Manager for Signature Programs is responsible for providing enriching and exciting program opportunities and events for Girl Scouts and their families throughout Western Washington. Working with funding partners and other community organizations located throughout the Council, create programs associated with Girl Scout pillars—Life Skills, Entrepreneurship, and STEM. This is a regular, full-time exempt position with pay starting at $61,828.00 with a requirement of being or becoming a Washington State resident.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

1. Create programs and events within the Girl Scout Program Pillars. Seek new and exciting topics to engage and retain youth members. Some examples might be a maritime program, environmental sciences exploration, or climate change and its impact on Western Washington.

2. Execute current signature programs such as patch programs and legacy programs/events. Some examples include the Global Action Team and Summit, Great Cascadia Zombie Survival Challenge, and Blood: The Gift of Life patch program.

3. Coordinate programs with funders and other community organizations throughout the Council to include virtual programs which embody the diversity, equity, and inclusion mission of Girl Scouts of Western Washington.

4. Prepare engaging social media and eNews resources to ensure event registrations are at or near capacity. Maintain an active presence on social media, posting program opportunities on a regular basis.

5. Fully utilize the functionality of the Salesforce Activities and Events module. Creates custom templates, manages event rosters, and coordinates with third-party ticket sales. Maintains a basic understanding of the Standard Operating Manual (SOPM) regarding the Activities and Events module. Collaborates with the Registration team to ensure programs and events are created, updated, and closed in a timely fashion.

6. Creates and manages program budget(s) and grant funding, tracks income and expenses monthly, ensures proper entries into General Ledger, and reviews monthly reports—making corrections as necessary to ensure the account accurately reflects the costs associated with the program pillar. Reports grant expenditures to supervisor for release by Finance Department.

7. Collaborates with the Philanthropy Department to locate and secure funding for programs to ensure cost is not a barrier for our members to participate in programs. Provide input for grants and other funding proposals to include youth programming and budget information.

8. Collaborates with Marketing Department to ensure events and programs receive visibility on the website, social media, and traditional media to include the creation of CANVA social media posts. Provides sufficient planning for Marketing to design materials to support programs and events.

9. Collaborates with Membership at least monthly to share programs, events, and patch programming. Works to ensure that Volunteer Support Managers are aware of upcoming programs providing data and metrics by Service Unit to promote participation in programs. Works with Community Development Managers to utilize programs as recruiting events, especially those that include funding for membership registration and renewal.

10. In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required: Associate degree or School and work experience combination.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications, Business, Event Management, Education, or Program Evaluation
