Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide a safe and nurturing home-like environment.
  • To provide leadership of the program and to encourage teamwork.
  • To provide support and oversight to the program staff (Youth Support Workers and Job Coaches; work collaboratively with the Outreach Workers, and the Program Clinical Case Manager).
  • To be responsible in partnership with the Assistant Regional Director of the referral, intake, and discharge process for clients.
  • To lead weekly house meetings, and weekly staff meetings as appropriate. Responsible to maintain records of all meetings.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the home and provide support, guidance, and oversight to encourage youth to participate in the upkeep of the home.
  • To hold youth accountable for their daily- weekly- activities towards their individual treatment planning goals specific to their required life-skills. Participate in the youths’ treatment team meetings and discharge planning meetings.
  • To serve is the linkage and liaison between the various natural supports and collaterals for the youth while encouraging the youth to take an active role in their planning and decision-making.
  • To serve as the point of contact for client’s families and monitor client/family contact.
  • To create and submit weekly staff schedules to the appropriate administrative staff.
  • To be responsible for the control of house expenses, primarily groceries, telephone, bills and other regular expenses.
  • To provide shift coverage as needed.
  • To provide emergency on-call on a rotating basis for designated programs and be available to provide in-person coverage and supports when necessary.

Program Manager Qualifications:

  • BS/BA required in human services or related field
  • Two-year’s prior experience working with youth and young adults in child-welfare/residential care, as well as at least one-year experience in a supervisory role.
  • Must have the ability to promote youth-led/youth-empowerment programming. (Education may be substituted for five or more years’ experience with two years of supervision/management experience.)
  • MAP certification preferred, not required.
  • Valid Drivers’ license required.
