LOCATION: Center is relocating to the city of GRAND TERRACE in San Bernardino County. It will be located at 22400 Barton Road. Must be able to commute to this location once the new facility site is licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health.

POPULATION SERVED: Adults with mental illness.

WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, 36 hours (8-hour days M-W, 6-hour days TH-F).

The following is an example PROGRAM AIDE position:

1. Under the training and supervision of the RN will assist with personal care. For example, will assist a few program participants with toileting to minimize fall risk when indicated. Will assist with arrivals and departures of program participants to ensure safety when loading, unloading. Under the supervision of the Activity Coordinator will assist with implementing the activities program.

Another example of a PROGRAM AIDE position:

2. Under the training and the supervision of the RD and RN, will coordinate the meal service needs of the program participants (Food Handler certification required).

PROGRAM AIDE QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to the needs of adults with chronic mental illness or other disabilities.

Personal qualities conducive to good interpersonal relationships, competence in helping others, and a willingness and capacity for continued learning.

A proficiency in written and spoken English.

Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Medical examination and TB clearance.

CPR and First Aid certification.

COVID-19 vaccination and COVID-19 booster.

Meet other requirements of the State of California as applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide individual and group support in meeting a planned schedule of medical and social activities that meet each program participants' care plan.

Assist the Activity Coordinator in implementing programs that meet the needs and interests of each program participant.

DUTIES (list is not all-inclusive and subject to the needs of the program):

Implement the PT / OT maintenance program.

Support major group activities with personalized individual care.

Assist program participants needing personal care under the supervision of the RN (ie, minimize fall risk when loading and unloading, when assisting with toileting, and when monitoring outside break areas including a designated smoking area).

Assist in mealtime distribution of food, snacks, and beverages.

Clean tables and chairs in the main activity hall each afternoon.

Document services that were provided on a daily basis.

Assist with transportation by transporting individuals using a company mini van as needed (if candidate has a good driving record and meets other criteria).
