General Summary

General - The Production Supervisor position is an exempt position responsible for managing

Policy Making Responsibility - The Production Supervisor will be responsible for having
input on policies and ensuring all employees follow and adhere to company policies.
Decision Making Responsibility - Routine decisions include, but are not limited to, decisions
in regards to evaluating production employee’s needs and day to day running of production.
Supervisory Responsibility – This position has supervisory responsibility of hourly
production employees in multiple departments with little support on off shifts.
Safety – Employees are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, regulations
and policy procedures. Employee responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complying with all safety rules and regulations
  • Reporting any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor
  • Maintaining floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in

rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities

  • Communicating to management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules

and/or procedures

  • Wearing required personal protective equipment properly and reporting any defective PPE
  • Reporting all near misses, accidents, injuries or illnesses, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders

Essential Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position may include any or all of the following, to be performed alone, or with assistance from others:

  • Ensure that processes and employees work in a safe condition; Maintain and enforce all safety procedures and programs
  • Report any unsafe act and/or condition to direct Supervisor and Safety Coordinator; Neutralize the condition if necessary
  • Maintain a high level of quality and output by auditing processes and personnel for efficiency
  • Maximize efficiency and quality of production; Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process and resources
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, reporting results of the process flow on shift production summaries
  • Ensure all plant policies are implemented and followed; Monitor and counsel employees as required per company policy
  • Evaluate and follow personnel performance as per company policy
  • Resolve personnel problems and issues by analyzing data, investigating and reporting issues, identifying solutions and recommending actions
  • Monitor manufacturing performance and address deficiencies to ensure operational metrics (Safety, Quality, Output)
  • Approve timesheets and ensure accuracy
  • Provide assistance and support to the plant floor associates
  • Provide HR / Direct Supervisor with employee performance feedback as necessary and

administrate disciplinary actions according to company policies and/or with guidance from HR and Direct SupervisorPerform some administrative tasks such as but not limited to, Status Change Forms, AX,Just, attendance record etc.Essential Physical Demands and Working Conditions

In this position, the employee will be subjected to physical demands requiring:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to perform standard office body movements 2 :
  • frequent sitting at desk and using computer keyboard
  • Frequent standing and walking around
  • Occasional bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing
  • Ability to use a computer including visual acuity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to tolerate moderate office and production floor noise levels

Hours of work – The normal work hours for this position are 40+ per week. The Production
Supervisor will work rotating days or nights depending on the shift managed.

Education, Experience and Skills
The Production Supervisor position has the following required (or preferred, as indicated)
education, experience and skills:

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School diploma required with 5+ years of
related experience

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of production processes
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to direct and guide others in an efficient and productive manner
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and solicit the assistance of others
  • Ability to conduct work in a self-directed manner with limited supervision
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Compliance with policies and codes of conduct

Evaluation criteria

The Production Supervisor’s performance will be accessed periodically as deemed necessary by management, but no less than annually. Evaluation criteria will include but will not necessarily be limited to:

Objective measures, including:

  • Attendance
  • Annually developed objectives
  • Compliance with policies, including codes of conduct

Subjective measures, including:

  • Department morale
  • Degree of efficiency and product knowledge
  • Any customer or co-worker feedback

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
