Job Summary: Trane Technologies in Columbia, SC is hiring a Production Manager. In this role you will:
  • Provides direction to salaried and hourly production and supports staff employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment.
  • Lead the strategic actions of a manufacturing/assembly department. Successfully creating an environment focused on problem-solving, people development, and company values.
  • Accountable for driving higher standards of excellence in manufacturing high-quality products in a safe manner while assuring cost-efficient products and on-time delivery to customers, and for maintaining an environment of positive employee relations in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall performance of assigned work group, including safety, quality, cost and output schedule performance.
  • Responsible for coaching and improving individual and team performance to acceptable standards, including but not limited to workmanship, attendance, safety, and job performance.
  • Ensure team compliance with policies, procedures, and work rules, including discipline for noncompliance.
  • Serve as primary communication vehicle between leadership team and production team.
  • Assure employees are consistently being trained and developed so that talent is retained and succession plans remove gaps in bench strength.
  • Responsible for training and developing team members and assuring that all employees understand how to perform the job in a safe manner to quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain positive employee relationships within and between departments as well as other plant locations.
  • Design and lead projects to support a culture of continuous improvement and OPEX: Manage MDI
  • Drive department metrics (SQDIP) and problem solve to address gaps: problem solve to get root cause for OTS and HPU miss, and manpower planning.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field from an accredited college/university preferred. Experience in lieu of degree considered.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a leadership role required.
  • Experience with implementing Lean culture in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Lean/OpEx experience desired.
  • Strong planning, problem analysis and resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Able to make timely decision in stressful situations.
  • Must be team-oriented with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change (environment, requirements, roles, Objectives).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Compelling communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office with heavy emphasis on excel.
  • Remanufacturing knowledge desired
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout day.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, welders or vehicles.
  • Requires use of protective clothing.

Salary: From $80,000 and up based on experience and will include a bonus
