Production - Labor Pool Job at U.S. Pipe, A Forterra Company
Pay: 18.81 per Hour plus shift differential
Principle Function: Performs miscellaneous laborer work and fills in on production and maintenance jobs throughout the plant as assigned.
Regular And Special Duties:
- Helps with unloading of incoming materials.
- Fills in on production or maintenance jobs when required in any department replacing absentees, vacations, etc.
- Serves as a relief man to relieve regular employees for work and lunch breaks.
- Performs general plant clean-up work.
- Responsible for good housekeeping in any work area assigned.
- Does other work as assigned by the Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb steps and ladders
- Must be able to bend and stoop repeatedly
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull objects and materials weighing 50 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects and materials weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Must be able to manually roll pipe on rails.
- Responsible for completing clean-up tasks involving picking up, sweeping, and shoveling.
- Must be able to help remove scrap, slag, sand and all other debris in area.
- Responsible for positioning equipment back in proper place.
- Must be able to recognize defective equipment and appropriately report defects to Supervision.
- Must be able to work in both hot and cold environments.
- Must be able to practice safe work procedures and comply with applicable safety rules and regulations in a heavy industrial environment.
Job Requirements:
- Must have 12 months manufacturing experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
