Positions Available and Responsibilities:

New Hires may be utilized in all areas of the mill until they are placed in or awarded a primary position. Placement is based on the needs of the business, as well as the best fit with the employees’ skills and interests. Most often, new hires are placed in the following areas:

  • Front End Operations
    • Utility/Clean up – Assist trucks with the dumping of dry or green material, clearing upset conditions in the dump building. Coordination with RMS Operator on the placement of material storage. Continuous cleaning both inside and out on the Front end. Operate CAT and other mobile equipment as needed.
    • Raw Material Storage – Operate CAT and other mobile equipment, learn to identify the different types of Raw Material. Operate CAT and scoop raw material and place in re-entry bins. Perform blowdowns and cleaning of front end areas.
  • Press Line
    • Utility - Switching resin valves, maintaining resin and performing daily housekeeping duties for the Press Line. Help the Line Assistants on issues with the line throughout the day.
  • Finishing
    • Banding – use manual bander to package materials to be shipped to customers. Print and match labels to the product, proper label placement, changing strap rolls, feeding edge protectors, and performing quality checks. Utilize company software to complete orders.
  • Lamination
    • Banding – use an automatic strapper machine to package laminated materials to be shipped to the customer. Print and match labels to the product, proper label placement, changing strap rolls, feeding edge protectors and performing quality checks. Utilize company software to complete orders.

Each of these areas has a “line of progression” path for future opportunities for advancement, as positions open and become available.


Shifts:

  • 12 hour shifts with a 3 day work week one week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) and a 4 day work week (Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun) the next. You will have a long weekend off, every other weekend. Day shift is 6 am - 6 p.m. or Night shift is 6 p.m. - 6 a.m. These positions do not rotate between days and nights.

General Responsibilities for all Arauco employees:

  • Employees are expected to put safety first. This means watching out for your safety and those around you. Wearing appropriate PPE and following all safety procedures and policies.
  • Ensure Arauco exercises responsibility for environmental stewardship in all areas of our business.
  • It is important you have reliable means of getting to work and getting here on-time.
  • Work to become a “capable” team member. Capable is defined as the ability to handle routine daily operational tasks.
  • Respond to upset conditions and work closely with any and all team members to address problems.
  • Communicate with team members about production line activities, any upset conditions experienced, and follow up on the resolution.
  • Properly complete product changes and productively operate the equipment.
  • Create maintenance requests for equipment problems in a timely manner and follow-up as needed to ensure work is completed.
  • Actively participate in any problem-solving meetings and contribute to improving processes.
  • Complete paperwork and electronic entries as necessary.
  • Expected to work towards a “competent” operating level. This is an elevated level of competency whereby the operator has a more intimate understanding of the equipment to troubleshoot and problem-solve more complex issues.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • You must be willing and able to be certified to safely operate a forklift or other mobile equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to: dusty (wood dust), hot, cold, or wet. May be required to work at heights with proper fall protection.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Post offer you must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and physical capability assessment.

Pay and Benefits:

  • The entry-level wage is $20.00
