City Experiences is seeking a Product Specialist for our operations.

About the Opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity to join our growing operations team at the world’s largest independent shore excursions provider, Venture Ashore. We are seeking a product specialist to help deliver our international product and destination strategy. You will develop strong relationships with our suppliers, negotiate contracts for tour products with suppliers, ensure that our tour product is kept up to date and assist in strategic growth and development of our owned and managed tour operations.

Reporting to the Director of Product, you will support in delivering the operations objectives of the business across the destinations in your region.

About Venture Ashore:

Venture Ashore is the largest provider of independent commissionable cruise excursions in the world, delivering carefully curated amazing experiences for cruise travelers led by professional guides in hundreds of ports worldwide. Venture Ashore cruising excursions are currently offered across 111 countries with departures from over 500 ports of call worldwide including over 5,000 individual tours.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Foster and develop good relationships with existing suppliers
  • Ensure that all administration requirements are completed and kept up to date including supplier insurance, supplier contracts (agreements) and terms & conditions
  • Ensure new tour products are uploaded and maintained
  • Onboard new suppliers where identified
  • Identify new ports of call with potential opportunities for new product
  • Audit existing tour products to ensure all details are properly maintained and updated ahead of tour season
  • Review and analyze pricing and negotiate with vendors to ensure that our product is competitive and to maximize margins
  • Review and analyze year over year tour cost increase % and associated business metrics
  • Partner with customer service team to ensure a high standard of customer experience
  • Assist suppliers with account queries and maintain regular communication to identify new product opportunities
  • Keep up to date with cruise deployment changes, adjust reservations to support itinerary changes and communicate with suppliers accordingly
  • Maintain and update the cruise itinerary database
  • Partner with customer service team to regularly review and action supplier performance to ensure a high standard of customer experience
  • Regularly review deployment and make recommendations to adjust product mix accordingly
  • Ensure regional sales targets and performance KPIs are achieved
  • Partner with the marketing team to ensure that new products are marketed effectively
  • Any other tasks requested by the Director of Product or Senior Management team within the scope and responsibilities of the role

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and able to work remotely
  • Highly customer focused, friendly and team oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Travel industry experience (required) - cruise knowledge (desirable)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field preferred
  • Experience in hotel operations, tour operations or related field (at least 1 year)
  • Proactive, demonstrating initiative and ability to problem solve
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to Travel up to 25%
