Product Manager- Surface Materials Sampling Job at Steelcase
We are hiring a
Product Manager - Surface Materials Sampling to be responsible for achieving the marketing objectives for designated materials/programs. Marketing objectives may relate to lifecycle management or new product development from concept phase to market introduction.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Assisting the marketing team in the development and implementation of strategies for the surface materials sampling business.
- Represents and makes marketing decisions when working closely with other disciplines (suppliers, operations, engineering, manufacturing, sales, training, marketing services, marketing communications, product development, industrial design) in new product development and lifecycle management.
- Analyzing customer needs, competitive information and sales trends to assist in decision making regarding product features and functions.
- Tracking and managing spend for a global platform.
- Maintaining liaison with field sales, dealers, customers, suppliers and operations staff.
- Providing leadership and coaching to interns.
- There is potential for international and domestic travel opportunities.
Your Future Team:
Surface Materials owns the aesthetic of our furniture offerings. We are an essential, core aspect of our organization and business model. We lead all components of our applied materials processes for our furniture products.
Who You Are:
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in marketing or business administration with specialty in marketing, design
- At least 2 years of related experience
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Merchandising background
- Financial and analytical skills that enable the analysis of pricing strategies
- Ability to manage complex project budgets
- InDesign experience
- Materiality and/or textiles aptitude/experience
- Global experience
- Solid presentation skills with varied audiences
- Thorough understanding of Steelcase processes, including marketing, sales, promotion, advertising and planning
