Galco Industrial Electronics is an authorized distributor for three million products from over 400 brands. We specialize in industrial, electrical and electronic automation, control and component solutions. Our distribution center stocks over 50,000 products and offers same day shipping and emergency service. We offer on-site and in-house repair services, as well as, engineering services which facilitate integration, retrofits and upgrades.

Position Overview

The Manager, Product Management, is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the product and technical aspects of the supplier relationship. This includes building strong supplier relationships, performing market and product evaluation and expansion, as well as recommending potential opportunities for new and existing suppliers. This role will also have supervisory responsibility for all product managers. Product managers serve as the point person for the product and technical communications for all assigned suppliers. Competitive compensation is based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the strategy for the Galco product line portfolio to meet company growth goals and objectives
  • Manage key stakeholders (sales, marketing, purchasing, etc) to ensure alignment on business strategy
  • Research products and technologies that would complement Galco’s product line offering. Understand the competitive landscape of the industry.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with suppliers to review results, inventory rotation and obsolescence, new product introductions, special pricing, incentives, quality and delivery, and upcoming campaigns
  • Core member to onboard new suppliers and product introductions
  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop the NPI strategy and promotional campaigns for each supplier and rollout within the Galco PM team
  • Lead, coach and develop product line management organization
  • Ensure PLM’s have capable product knowledge to support suppliers and markets
  • Offer technical support to customers or internal departments
  • Work with suppliers on special price arrangements
  • Create, monitor, and report out on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the product line team
  • Evaluate and monitor product line sales trends for action or forecasting
  • Point of contact for all product line correspondence
  • Assist suppliers in the development of product learning materials for internal company training
  • Attend supplier training and seminars as required
  • Understand supplier capabilities and scale (market share) and how the relationship can grow
  • Establish information storage in company to hold key supplier information (contracts, meeting agendas and follow-up, score cards, KPI’s, etc)
  • Support business content team to product unique attributes

Qualifications

  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics Technology or Bachelor of Science in related field or similar experience in the electronics field
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Possess a sound technical foundation of product line offerings
  • A self-starter who looks for opportunities to create value for the company
  • Individual must have the following competencies:
