SFS Group USA - Division Automotive located in Medina, Ohio, has a full-time opportunity for a Product Engineer working closely with production and customers. The position is part of the automotive engineering team and is responsible for managing specific products through their life cycles.

Product Engineer Primary Responsibilities

• Keeps investment / innovation projects on track and brings them successfully to serial production
• Drives improvement projects (Cost, Quality & Performance) together with Production and Process Engineering.
• Preparation of data analysis and trend data analysis of production data as input for process improvements.
• Leads 8D activities.
• Responsible for INR's for products that fall under the responsibility of the PM.
• Management of Customer Portals in regards of quality topics (8D's).
• Presents improvement status for quality, performance and costs to local management team.
• Informs capacity issues for single purpose machines within the responsible Product Lines
• Insure knowhow transfer between the involved SFS sites and the Business Unit.
• Review product manufacturing costs comparing between the sites and implement actions.
• Supports the removal of bottlenecks in collaboration with production / customer
• Builds technical relationship with customer within receiving plant organization
• Actively visits receiving plants to receive 1on1 feedback on SFS performance
• Creates documentation of Know-how for responsible product line
• Performs continuously R&R in production line to evaluate real output
• Continuously provides training for plant employees about the Product line
• After PPAP approval, plan the ramp-up and support Start of Production (SOP).
• Ongoing support during the Serial Production phase.
• Review of Safe Launch (SLC) data and implement improvements where needed.
• Manage End of Product (EOP) / ramp-down activities.

Product Manager Qualifications:

• BS/BA in engineering; combination of education and experience will be considered
• An engineering student in mechanical, mechanical tech, electrical whose has relevant experience and is seeking a position while finishing their degree
• 1-3 years of project management in related technical field highly desired
• Foundational knowledge of mass production machining, preferably in the automotive industry is helpful
• MS office, SAP and the ability to interpret route plans
