The Product Development Engineer role contributes indispensably to a versatile engineering team, where cross-functional collaboration is paramount for designing, analyzing, and implementing antenna systems. What You Will Do

  • Work directly with the design engineers and technicians to establish design objectives and meet design specifications and performance expectations.
  • Perform risk assessment tests to improve design and reduce risks before release for tool kickoff.
  • Identify failures, file observations, troubleshoot mechanical failures and lead root-cause analysis.
  • Engineer functional prototypes to evaluate product performance.
  • Participate in the product cycle development from concept to release. Solid modeling with UG NX, create detailed drawing, write Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
  • Develop internal testing methods, apparatuses, fixtures, and materials needed to achieve customer and product requirements.
  • Research on material alternatives and new mechanical design tools
  • Implementations of best-known mechanical techniques and materials for different antenna components.
  • Perform engineering analysis and studies. Conduct research & development activities related to prototypes.
  • Submit test reports and present test results to engineering team and costumer.
  • Evaluate prototypes, write test plans, and design experiments, perform engineering tests. Support manufacturing builds, and development of prototypes.
  • Work closely with program management, quality, and electrical departments to discuss areas of interest.
  • Some minimal travel requirements (currently to MX) supporting builds.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in design and working knowledge of plastic, small die cast/sheet metal components.
  • Knowledge of Unigraphics NX, Catia or SolidWorks.
  • Detailed theoretical design and failure mode analysis background (mechanics of materials, elastic failure, stress analysis)
