Physical Requirements: General Office
Hours of Work: Full Time 37.5, hours weekly
Job Summary: This position will help drive product-development and sales & marketing activities to achieve product line strategy for revenue and profit growth. This position is responsible for the process and coordination of all activities required to bring a product to market. This position will also serve as the regulatory specialist for all of the products within the lines of business. Occasional travel is required to client sites, conferences, trade shows, and trainings.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 2 years of related experience ( including but not limited to fields such as product development, sales with market research and analysis, marketing/advertising, design and engineering, or entrepreneurship). OR Associates degree with 4 years of related experience as previously defined.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
- Experience with and working knowledge of Federal and NYS State regulations impacting production of goods. Experience working with Food and Drug Administration, Department of Agriculture and Markets, Department of Transportation and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards preferred.
Major Responsibilities:
- Work with department leadership and finance staff to assess and monitor product performance for existing catalog. Meet identified goals for ensuring acceptable product performance is maintained to include seeking pricing revisions, product discontinuations, product substitutions, use of alternative suppliers and other sales strategies.
- Assist in product planning and development across all product categories through interaction with internal departments.
- Create deliverables related to product planning including product roadmap, public sector product applications, bids and requests for proposals, customer quote sheets and sample packets, category and product communication collateral, web site updates and price list maintenance.
- Implementation of the marketing plan with accountability for product profitability. This includes utilizing gained knowledge of market share potential, competitive analyses and evaluation and selection of supplier resources, to create positioning, pricing, demonstrated ROI and turnover.
- Assist with identifying new business growth opportunities within the assigned product lines including analysis of the opportunity that includes justification, positioning, proposed pricing and ROI.
- Conduct market research studies to determine competitive features, pricing, market share, and SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis. Communicate same to department leadership.
- Elicit feedback on product ideas and concepts from key customers and sales staff and help drive prototypes and applications when appropriate.
- Consult departmental leadership on specialized/skilled regulatory and chemist needs and establish proposal for course of action to meet needs. Identify sources of expertise to engage to effectively address needs.
- Identify and establish SOP's for new and revised products included but not limited to product specs, bills of materials, total job analysis (includes Process steps and QC steps, as well as safety steps/PPE.)
