Job Summary:

The Principal in Residence manages the day-to-day affairs of the school, provides academic leadership, and ensures a safe learning environment for students and staff for Purdue Polytechnic Indianapolis High School. The position is responsible for providing curricular and instructional support to school staff as well as handling student discipline issues. The School Principal is committed to implementing the school’s mission to develop students’ lifetime success by preparing them with the skills needed to succeed in today’s workplace through a STEM-focused education and experiential learning.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Supervises and facilitates daily operations of the school
  • Works collaboratively with the PPHS Network to analyze data to improve student achievement
  • Manage the fiscal activities of the school
  • Leads the effort to hire, train, and evaluate primary and supplemental staff
  • Engages families and community partners in school mission and vision
  • Creates a school culture that promotes Restorative Practices and continuous improvement
  • Ensures a creative learning environment that challenges students through experiences and projects
  • Coaches and evaluates all school staff
  • Manages both staff and fiscal resources to support student achievement and legal responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains PPHS core values
  • Performs such other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s Degree required
  • Current Indiana Administrator’s license
  • 3+ years in a school-related leadership role
  • Familiarity with experiential learning and educating students in a STEM-focused environment
  • Strong communicator at a variety of levels.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data for informed decision-making.
  • Possess the essential mindset that all students can succeed
