Press Brake Operator – Night Shift 3:30pm to 2:00am Monday through Thursday

We are in search of an experienced individual to set up and operate a heavy duty press to bend, form, and punch metal sheets and plates. The ideal candidate will be competent in reading blueprints to determine measurements of each product and operate the press brake to cut and bend materials into the shape according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

· Plan sequence of operations using blueprints or engineering drawings.

· Measure and sight along workpiece to mark reference lines.

· Select and position flat, V-block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine.

· Align and bolt dies to ram and bed machine.

· Set depth and pressure of ram stroke.

· Lift and position workpiece between dies of machine.

· Start machine to lower ram, which bends workpiece between dies.

· Reposition workpiece and change dies as needed when making multiple or successive passes.

· Grind out burrs and sharp edges as needed.

· Measure the final product to ensure uniformity.

· Inspect and mark job number on finished workpiece.

· Bend and punch cold metal.

· Set dies to punch and blank metal.

· Operate horizontal power press to bend pieces of bar stock or structural.

· Perform routine maintenance on the machine.

· Lift raw materials, final products, and items manually (up to 51 pounds).

· Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.

· Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.

· Follow all company rules and polices.

· Provide a great level of attention to detail.

· Follow all safety rules and quality standards.

· Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Knowledge and Skills for this Position:

· Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs to maximize effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

· Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents and fractions to decimal equivalents.

· Ability to produce quality products consistently.

· Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shields, gloves, etc.).

· Deftness and attention to detail.

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

· Must be reliable, with a strong work ethic and desire to contribute to a team.

· Willing to work 40+ hours weekly.

Requirements:

· 2+ years of experienced preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering drawings required.

· Ability to use tape measures, protractor, and radius gauge proficiently required.

· Experience with hand tools in a manufacturing environment required.

· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required.

· Random drug testing required after employment.

Compensation:

· $22.00 - $27.00 hourly depending on experience, with an added $2.00 hourly shift differential
