In-Plant Supervisor

In-Plant supervisors are responsible for the success of Loadstar's in-plant product handling logistics operations. Supervisors provide leadership and support to loaders, switchman, warehouse staff, and dock operators for whom they are responsible. This support includes the safe and reliable execution of work activities pursuant to Loadstar and customer procedure and applicable regulations. Supervisors are the backbone of the Loadstar in-plant operations and enjoy significant autonomy and decision-making authority.


Job Requirements


  • Minimum two years industry logistics experience.
  • Must possess valid & current TWIC and Driver's license.
  • Excellent overall knowledge and adherence to Loadstar Safety Management System and other applicable company policies and procedures


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Serve as primary contact for customer communications, service needs, problems, and opportunities
  • Understand all procedures, policies, and guidelines that are mandated and ensure employees understand and comply
  • Maintain high employee morale through leading by example and supporting the team
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and ready for work each shift
  • Participate in applicant interviews and hiring
  • Continuously aid all field employees and backfill employees in their duties and responsibilities when required
  • Ensure training of newly hired/qualified field workers is completed satisfactorily
  • Conduct employee evaluations and encourage development and succession planning
  • Carry out employee discipline and coaching meetings
  • Quickly respond to operational incidents and ensure proper corrective action has been taken, lessons learned are discussed, and investigations are completed
  • Embrace safety and environmental care as a core valve of leadership
  • Conduct audits on field employees at job sites routinely
  • Conduct safety meetings to educate and discuss observation findings


Physical Requirements


  • Speak fluent English, write, read, hear, and have good vision
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
  • Employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
