What will you do?

In this role you will indirectly supervise and coordinate the activities of manufacturing operations through direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees who supervise the production or processing of goods.
  • Coordinate operations and activities between departments through shop supervision.
  • Oversee work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Ensure that materials, products, or equipment are without defects or malfunctions.
  • Monitor operations to ensure conformance to production or processing standards.
  • Conduct supervisor training in work and safety procedures, or obtain training through qualified sources.
  • Develop and conduct performance evaluations with supervisors, including the development of plans of action for their growth within the Company.
  • Analyze problems and deficiencies amongst supervisory staff and communicate with appropriate personnel to address concerns, including development of corrective action plans.
  • Assist supervisors in analyzing employee problems and deficiencies and communicating with employee to address concerns, including development of corrective action plans; where warranted.
  • Participate in employment decision regarding, hiring, pay, discipline, promotion, transfer, and termination.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures.
  • Keep records of supervisors’ attendance.
  • Oversee records of employees' attendance and hours worked.
  • Develop charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Ensure the timely requisition of materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.
  • Determine standards, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
  • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Recommend or execute personnel actions, such as hirings, evaluations, and promotions.
  • Calculate labor and equipment requirements and production specifications, using standard formulas.
  • Plan and develop new products and production processes.
