Plant Maintenance/Grounds Person - Construction Aggregates
L.G. Everist, Inc., founded in 1876 produces and supplies sand, gravel, and quarried stone throughout the Midwest region of the United States.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Plant Maintenance/Grounds Person for our sand and gravel operations in the Fort Lupton and Firestone areas of Colorado. This position will be responsible for general labor and for the maintenance and repair of our aggregate processing plant equipment. Qualified candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Safety first attitude; experience in an MSHA environment preferred.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in the maintenance of sand and gravel plants.
- Ability to work with or without supervision.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working at elevations and or tight / confined spaces.
- Capable of operating hand, power and specialty tools safely.
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
- An attitude of continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – listening, verbal, written.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
LOCATIONS
Fort Lupton, CO and Firestone, CO
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Comparable experience will be considered.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes a culture of safety. Follow Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rules and regulations.
- Work as a laborer or ground person during plant operating hours.
- After the plant is shut down or in need of repair:
- Complete maintenance as per preventative maintenance schedule.
- Inspect, adjust, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install feeders, screens, crusher cones, water and sand pumps, coarse and fine material washers, cyclones, conveyors, stackers, etc.
- Replacement of wear parts, cone liners, bearings, gearboxes, oil, screens, sheaves, belts, etc.
- Experience in using a cutting torch and welder.
- Capable in operating a manlift, skid steer, service truck mounted crane, etc.
- Communicate findings and make recommendations to Plant Managers.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulatory policies and procedures.
SCHEDULE
Full time, 12pm - 12am, Monday-Friday, some Saturday hours.
