Picker Job at Houdini Inc. /Wine Country Gift Baskets
Please note: this is a seasonal position.
Overview of job description:
A Picker performs a variety of routine tasks related to material handling. They must be able to identify numbers, distribute pallets to appropriate locations, assists leads and coworkers in replenishing lines with the correct product in a timely manner. Perform general housekeeping duties in warehouse. Work effectively with other employees and communicate. Must be able to lift 25 to 50lbs and use pallet jack. Will be staging inventory pallets in the labeling lines and removing empty pallets with pallet jack.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- To ensure lines have product at all times.
Safety:
- Enforce Company Safety Programs
- Maintain a Clean and Organized work area including: ensuring that the labeling work area and floor is kept organized, and clear of empty boxes, clutter, trash and scrap.
Quality Assurance:
- Possess ability to identify item numbers
- Ability to effectively follow procedures & steps in distributing items to proper location
- Follow company FEFO (First Expiring First Out) guidelines
Typical Physical Demands:
- Standing, bending, lifting and walking are required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Identify numbers, work well under pressure, model & promote the company values and philosophies.
- Must be organized.
- Must be able to use RF gun to handle picking transactions.
- Knowledge of warehouse layout
