This training opportunity is for current students enrolled in a certification program or pursuing an undergraduate degree.

The role will begin with a 4-week, full-time training course from December 27th - January 21st then transition into a flexible phlebotomy position during the duration of the spring semester.

Student phlebotomists will then have the opportunity to take part in another paid 4-week, full-time training course after their spring semester ends which will cover drawing blood!
Responsibilities:
What does the special paid training program look like?

The first 2 weeks of training will be conducted in a classroom setting located in West Allis, WI. Student phlebotomists will learn how to accurately preform donor registration, medical interviewing, perform wound care after blood donations, and re-booking future donation appointments.

The second 2 weeks of training will take place throughout active blood drives. Student phlebotomists will receive the opportunity to take what they have learned in the classroom setting and perform under the supervision of an experienced phlebotomist.

  • Perform wound care after blood donations, ensuring donor/recipient safety
  • Re-booking donors for future appointments
The 4 week training program after the spring semester will cover venipunctures/ blood draws!

Qualifications:

***All new employees must obtain primary Covid-19 vaccination (single dose Johnson & Johnson or 2 dosages of Pfizer/Moderna/Novavax) prior to start date or have an approved accommodation prior to their start date. ***

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current student enrolled in a certification program or pursuing their undergraduate degree
  • Valid driver's license
  • Availability to complete the 4 week full-time training program (December 27th - January 21st)
  • Willingness to complete a background check that includes a drug screen, motor vehicle check, criminal check, education verification, and employment verification
  • Excellent customer service skills
