GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Pharmacy Programs, the Pharmacy Business Data (340B) Analyst is tasked with analyzing business data, systems, and processes with the objective of creating actionable information upon which management can make decisions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of independently technical and analytical functions in the areas of budgetary analysis and financial management

• Conduct financial, statistical, and analytical assessments, including financial modeling, revenue/cost forecasting, and risk/return analysis; and prepare and assist in the preparation and reporting of financial reports
• Responsible for designing and generating various company reports and financial analytics that focus on cost, utilization, membership, trends, and ad hoc requirements
• Analyze revenue streams and contractual adjustments, bad debt and any changes to bad debt and contractual reserves
• Contribute to preparation of financial reporting (e.g., 340B summary reports, board reports, departmental reports, scorecards and regulatory reports such as UDS and 990). Maintain a database of 340B claims data, for use in monthly reports and ad hoc analysis.
• Prepare 340B pharmacy dispense data for upload to external vendors. Ensure the integrity of the claims data throughout the upload process.
• Support internal and external audits as needed
• Prepare vendor ROI and RFP analysis as needed
• Prepare ad hoc analysis and benchmarking including analyzing raw financial data as well as compiling reports, graphs and presentations
• Identify finance core processes for standardization/redesign and implement more streamlined procedures to enhance efficiency and controls
• Develop and maintain various financial models used to support decision making
• Develop, analyze and communicate the key metrics and drivers of departmental performance (against history, budget, forecast, and strategic plan)
• Create actionable information that results in identifying trends and opportunities for improvement in company performance
• Lead analytical efforts to identify and present cost avoidance and cost recovery opportunities. Monitor 340B pricing restoration and troubleshoot pricing issues with wholesalers.
• Planning & Forecasting – Support the financial planning activities in a manner that yields challenging, but achievable, strategic plans, budgets and forecasts and provides clear understanding of requirements and results
• Operational Support – Support field operations in analysis of their financial performance and determining areas of improvement.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Must be advanced in the use of Microsoft Excel; SQL & Access experience preferred
• Ability to use the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of financial data analysis is required
• Ability to work independently
• Must be skilled at manipulating and analyzing complex data sets, systems and processes
• Communication – Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to various audiences, particularly executive audiences.

Experience:

• 340B pharmacy analytic experience strongly preferred.
• Forecasting and Budgeting experience a plus
• Medical claim analysis experience a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Health Services required
