Functions as the human resource contact for a large department or subdivision of the University in coordination with the Office of Human Resources. Selects applicants during the employment process and/or typically has ongoing management of two or more FTEs as a primary duty. Administers human resource policies that cover two or more functional areas such as employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, or training. Serves as front-line advisor to department administrators regarding human resource issues. Acts as liaison between the assigned department and the Office of Human Resources for all academic and non-academic human resource-related matters. Ensures departmental compliance with University human resource policies and procedures. May recruit faculty and act as faculty relations liaison.

Salary Range: $47,665 - $77,455

Preferred:

Five years of progressively responsible human resources generalist experience including employee relations, progressive disciplines, recruitment, position development, salary analysis, and staff development strongly preferred. Working knowledge of ORACLE HR processes and experience with faculty and staff hiring processes are strongly desired. Grants and Contracts HR support experience is preferred. Candidates must possess experience with HR candidate tracking systems and HR employment systems. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, SharePoint, and ORACLE. This individual should be highly organized, detail and accuracy-oriented, self-motivated and possess strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and public relations skills. This role will require great stamina to facilitate the ongoing multi-directional focus of the role.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) preferred.
