Payroll Specialist Job at Oak Harbor Freight Lines
The Payroll Specialist is a key member for our HR and Payroll team. This position is an in office role, responsible to ensure that employee data is kept current in our HRIS systems, process timely and accurate semi-monthly payrolls and offer excellent customer service to all employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing hours computed and correcting errors in HRIS system to ensure accuracy of payroll
- Updating employee data and pay changes in the HRIS system
- Assisting the Payroll Lead in transmittal of payroll Semi-monthly
- Answering Employee and Manager questions regarding payroll and other HR related topics
- Preparing reports as needed
- Processing final paychecks for separating employees
- Providing information for unemployment claims
- Completing wage verifications as requested
- Supporting the Payroll Lead as needed
- Other office duties as assigned
- A minimum of 2 years of computerized payroll processing experience is preferred
- Experience working in a high volume, fast paced work environment is required
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office products is required
- Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal) is required
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Strong problem solving skills are highly desired
- Ability to adapt quickly to change and deliver under the pressure of deadlines is required
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
