Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate preparation and remittance of weekly, monthly, and quarterly federal, state and local withholding tax returns
  • Prepare and file quarterly state withholding and unemployment tax returns for each location
  • Prepare quarterly Federal Unemployment Tax returns (Form 940) and payments along with schedule B
  • Maintain and monitor all tax spreadsheets and files for accuracy.
  • Research tax issues from prior tax periods and develop effective tax minimization strategies.
  • Research IRS Tax Notices and respond to income tax inquiries through correspondence with taxing authorities.
  • Comply with all Federal, State and Local legal rules, regulations, and requirements.
  • Maintain technical and professional proficiency.
  • Organize and schedule all reporting and payments to ensure compliance with established deadlines to avoid late reporting/payment penalties and/or interest.
  • Responsible for reporting W-2C and W-3C to Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Service.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, or similar.
  • 2-3 years of experience in manual payroll tax filings/payments.
  • Proficiency in general ledgers and GAAP principles.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
