Payroll Administrator
SAFEbuilt is in search of a Payroll Administrator to join their team in Loveland, CO. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for bi-weekly processing of payroll for company pay group(s) in conjunction with Payroll Team, provide inquiry research and resolution of any payroll discrepancies, and process Employee Travel & Expense Reimbursements as part of bi-weekly payroll. This position functions with a Payroll Team of 4 and reports to the Payroll Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review EE payroll record updates for accuracy as updated by HR for employee changes in status, earnings, exemptions, Allowance Pay, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll in Ultimate Software for Company Pay Groups and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Prepare bi-weekly employee Travel & Expense reimbursements for inclusion in payroll and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collect and upload timekeeping information for employees weekly and verify accuracy of data.
  • Process Employee Garnishments into Payroll system and determine liability for payroll deduction.
  • Calculate Termination, PTO Payouts; prepare Manual paychecks when necessary and assist with conversion to direct ACH when needed.
  • Prepare Payroll Checklist by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Prepare reconciliation for each payroll submission on HSA and 401k Contribution deductions for validation of vendor funding.
  • Prepare and submit Payroll and accounting reports with payroll information to supervisor.
  • Enter manual ACH/paychecks, T/E reimbursements, and related payroll entries into SAGE accounting software.
  • Provide payroll information and/or assistance to Employees and Managers by answering related questions and requests.
  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit and assist to provide audit documentation.
  • Assist in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of new payroll processes.
  • Work closely with Payroll Team Members and HR Team to accomplish duties.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, other departments, and management.
  • Interact with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Write/communicate effectively and understand written communications, including but not limited to email.
  • Maintains sensitive information and employee confidentiality to protect payroll integrity.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • May be required to work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • May be asked to attend and/or travel for bi-annual Finance Meetings.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working hours.
  • Regularly use spreadsheets, Intranet database, and word processing software, and periodically learn new programs.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
    • Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • FPP or CPP credentials a plus.
  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize.
  • Familiarity with Ultimate and Sage systems a plus.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (multiple platforms a plus).
  • Computer proficiency within a Microsoft Office environment required as is the ability to successfully learn and subsequently maneuver within internal business applications.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
COMPENSATION: SAFEbuilt pays competitive wages.
Salary Range: $24.00-$27.60/hour
