Description
The Education Specialist is responsible for providing training on compliance, department policies and procedures, and system training for both new and tenured employees across the Revenue Cycle. The Specialist will be a member of a quality team which is responsible for identification of errors through reports and manual audits, tracking and trending, development of action plans, and initiation of educational needs for Revenue Cycle Departments: Patient Access, Health Information Management (HIM), and Patient Financial Services.
The Quality team will provide detailed and consistent feedback to personnel regarding individual performance (explanation of errors), and will provide further education and/or educational tools to colleagues as necessary in collaboration with the department Manager for appropriate area/staff accountability.

The quality team will provide communication to Patient Access management regarding registration accuracy for the correction of Pre-Billing Errors, Pre-Certification, and identification of insurance issues as they arise.- The Specialist will participate in the analysis of denials and is responsible to provide appropriate feedback, education and training to HIM, and various departments throughout the hospital and/or clinics.
- Patient Financial Services will receive productivity statistics and accuracy feedback regarding individual colleague performance.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
AAS in health administration, business, finance, or related field preferred.
Three years of Revenue Cycle experience with knowledge of insurance, coding, billing and standard health care reporting measures required.
