Patient Accounts/Financial Counselor
The Patient Accounts/Financial Counselor provides counseling services to clients and their families regarding the understanding and payment of their financial responsibility to Banyan Treatment Center.
Responsibilities
- Communicate in a professional manner with proper use of telephone etiquette
- Ability to multi-task
- Counsel families regarding client financial responsibility
- Contact insurance companies and clients regarding pay to client claims
- Work with insurance subscribers to forward all insurance payments to Banyan for posting and collection
- Update spreadsheets and client databases with pertinent information Collect copays, deductible and out of pocket fees for all locations.
Experience/Skills/Education Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in customer service, phone counselor, patient accounts, or related
- Expert knowledge of all Microsoft office products
- High proficiency in computer systems, databases, patient account systems
- Some College required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
