Associates in Ophthalmology (AIO) is a well-established, multi-specialty practice committed to excellence since its establishment in 1899. AIO is the parent company for the Associate Surgery Centers (ASC), where 95% of eye surgeries are performed in-house.

Job Responsibilities:
Greets patients upon check-in/registration and tracks patients in waiting areas- Reviews and verifies information in patient charts
- Enters patient demographics into computer
- Verifies insurance information; obtain authorizations or referrals; collect co-pays or past balances
- Reviews fee tickets upon patient check-out; ensures all fees are collected
- Prints dictation letters
- Ensures patient satisfaction
- Provides telephone coverage (answers calls promptly; identifies and expedites emergency calls; takes on/off service; schedules appointments; checks reschedule book)
- EMR administration, documentation, and scanning
- Daily office mail administration
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1-2 years of similar administrative experience within a physician practice or hospital environment is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient with Windows-based applications
- Ability to handle multiple tasks within a changing environment
