SUMMARY:

Provide elevated customer service in a high energy and fast paced environment. Maintain positive and effective interactions with guests and co-workers while assisting cashiers with preparing and delivering beer orders to guests in an efficient manner. Assists with troubleshooting beer/keg based issues.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DEPENDING ON LOCATION:

  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons if needed

  • Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol when necessary

  • Prepare guests' beverage orders, including, but not limited to: draft beer, bottled beer, wine, seltzers, spritzers, bottled soda, and bottled water.

  • Troubleshoot draft beer issues, replace or change kegs as needed.

  • Assist with inventories, stocking and replenishing products

  • Participates in set-up and break down of stand.

  • Performs clean-up duties in the stand to maintain the quality appearance of the work area, including cleaning equipment.

Minimum Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The minimum requirement for applicants is a High School Diploma or GED; No prior experience is required. Must possess a high level of self-confidence with ability to assertively sell assigned items. Must possess a cooperative work attitude. Basic math skills; ability to accurately account for cash and inventory. Strong communication skills, including listening and ability to communicate with guests and respond to inquiries. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be 21 years old or older

Valid Food Handler certificate from California preferred.

Servsafe alcohol service certification preferred.

Must Comply with SDSU COVID-19 Vaccine Policies and Procedures.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write and understand English. Requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, guidelines and objectives.

Requires the ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business information, governmental regulations, and technical/trade journals. Requires the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, subordinates, vendors, other departments, customers and the general public.


MATHEMATIC SKILLS:

Requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, portions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic math. Requires the ability to prepare and analyze numerical figures, create and interpret spreadsheets.


REASONING ABILITY:

Requires the ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out general written or oral instructions. Must be able to multitask, prioritize work and pay attention to detail. Requires good analytical, quantitative skills, organizational and management skills.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk for the entire shift, ability to speak clearly, ability to communicate with customers in a professional manner. Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials with a minimum of 50 pounds.


WORK CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS:

Work is regularly performed outdoors in extreme heat or extreme cold. Exposure to loud noises such as crowds cheering, fireworks, announcements and music.
